Elder Flower
Sambucus Nigra

Common in woods, hedgerows, and wastelands. The flowers (white/yellow), bark, berries and leaves are used. Good for colds, runny nose and fevers.

Functions / Benefits
Diaphoretic (induces perspiration), gentle diuretic (promotes urination), restores and tones mucus membranes.

Indications
Common cold, influenza, fevers. Nasal catarrh, sinusitis, rhinitis, hay fever.

Contraindications
None known.

Method & dose
The tea can be drunk freely for colds and fevers.
For prevention of recurring colds and hay fever - consume 3 cups of tea a day. For hay fever, start 2 months before the pollen season.
