Our 5th nutrient mineral (in alphabetical order). Trace mineral. Chemical symbol: ‘Cu’. The "Fire Extinguisher" - necessary for the act of perspiration. An important blood antioxidant. Involved in the production of collagen (the protein responsible for functional integrity of bone, cartilage, skin and tendon), elastin (the protein that is mainly responsible for the elastic properties of blood vessels, lungs and skin).

EU RDA: 1.2mg (milligram)
Supplementation may lower zinc levels in the body and cause insomnia.
